ICH GEH’ UND SUCHE

 Johann Sebastian Bach

“Ich geh’ und suche”

“I go forth and seek with longing”

scenic cantata

Proj. Leszek Żubrowski

Johann Sebastian Bach's stage cantata "Ich geh'und suche" is a sublime combination of music and singing, with elements of acting, stage movement compositions and original costumes. The musical tissue is based on the masterful cantatas of J.S. Bach - selected fragments, ranging from BMV 155 "Mein Gott wie lang, ach lange", through BMV 103, 32 to BMV 49 „Ich geh’ und suche mit Verlangen” (I walk and search with longing desire). The elaborate vocal and instrumental parts are enhanced by dialogues led by actresses (excerpts from the Book of Psalms).
